Day 15 – 27 January 2025
Day 1 of the Triveni Shibir began with serene group chants from the mantra book that was released during the Sankranti Shibir. Sri M performed the traditional aarti at Sri Guru Babaji’s shrine followed by blissful silent meditation. An invigorating yoga session of asanas, Surya Namaskara, and pranayama followed.
Sri M commenced the shibir with an introductory satsang on Kriya Yoga by expounding on parts of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, emphasizing that Kriya is a technique that can help still the fluctuations of the mind. The session ended with peaceful meditation after the first step of Kriya initiation.
Some participants joined hands with the volunteers to offer Annadaanam and Chai Seva to numerous weary and famished pilgrims and travelers who are flocking to Prayagraj to celebrate the auspicious Mouni Amavasya on 29 January.
The evening session started on a devotional note with the Dhuni Puja and chanting of mantras and culminated with an enchanting musical performance by Soul of Benares. Led by Pandit Deobrat Mishra, world-renowned sitar and surbahar player, the ensemble of outstanding musicians from the Benaras Gharana included Shri Prashant Mishra on tabla, Shri Om Sahai Mishra on sarangi, and Pandit Subham Gujrati on pakhawaj. Absolutely delighted with their Dhrupad renditions in praise of Lord Shiva, Sri M exclaimed that they had brought Lord Kashi Vishwanath with them to Prayagraj and felicitated them after the concert.
