Day 23 – 4 February 2025
Day 23 at Yogadham was a day of sound and stillness, a day immersed in chanting. It was a rest day at Yogadham, but rest here means being present, an unhurried settling into practice as the day moved at its own rhythm.
The afternoon was spent learning the basics of Sanskrit pronunciation—each syllable precise, each sound carrying its own weight. We learned to chant Mantra Pushpam, feeling the collective harmony of our voices syncing, breath aligning, meaning unfolding not just in words but in experience.
There was no rush. No need to move forward quickly. The chants held us in their rhythm, steady and grounding. We repeated, refined, and absorbed—not just through the mind, but through the body, the breath, the vibration in the chest.
As the sun dipped, we gathered again for Dhuni Pooja and bhajans. The fire crackled, the air was thick with devotion. The chants carried through the evening—Agnimile, Brahmarpanam, Shanno Mitrah, Ganapati Kirtan, Pibare Rama Rasam—each mantra a thread, weaving the space into something timeless.
There was a stillness beyond the sound, something deeper than the words. The fire flickered, the voices rose, and for a while, nothing else existed.
