Day 43 – 24 February 2025
The highlight of the last day’s session of Yoga Vasistha Retreat was the story of King Sikhidhwaja and his Queen Cudala, both of whom set out on the path of self-realisation with the Queen discovering it first. When she tried to share it with the King, he ridiculed her words and went off to the forest to discover the truth himself, leaving the Queen to rule the Kingdom.
The Queen followed him to the forest after a while in disguise, dispelling all his notions of asceticism and renunciation, bringing him slowly to the fact that a normal life was possible as a self-realised being who acted out of total dispassion and brought peace and prosperity to the kingdom.
The discourse ended with Sri M coming back to Lord Rama and Vasistha, emphasising that though Rama was already a realised soul, he appeared in the world to ask all the right questions of Sage Vasistha to bring out this invaluable text for those that sought liberation.
The discourse ended with Sri M performing aarti at the Sri Guru Babaji shrine after thanking the participants for listening patiently and with full attention to a difficult text.
The last day of the annadaanam seva was choc-a-bloc with sadhus and pilgrims streaming in to be served khichdi and fruits and given dakshina, carefully and lovingly supervised by Sri M. The evening dhuni was serene and calm with the melodious chanting of the Taittriya Upanishad.
