Enlightened ones draw inspiration directly from the Supreme Self: Sri M

Day 42 – 23 February 2025

On the eighth day of the Yoga Vasistha Retreat, Sri M pointed out that the silence of the mind required to apprehend the absolute truth was very close to the silence of sushupti or deep sleep when the mind was completely absent. He said at dawn when one is between blissful sleep and waking might be a good  time to do that.  Once one touches the source, work becomes spontaneous without a touch of selfishness, done for the welfare of the world, he added.

Here he dwelt on the story of Bhagiratha who brought the Ganga down to the plains from the high Himalayas, Lord Shiva’s abode. Touching the source enables the enlightened ones to make the impossible possible since the work is done by the supreme self and not by the individual ego which is a conditioned product of the mind and senses, he said.

Morning chanting, meditation with Sri M, and yoga provided a divine start to the day. Annadaanam seva for 500 sadhus and pilgrims continued apace with Sri M leading it by  serving and honouring them personally. Dhuni Puja was choc-a-block with visitors allowed during that time. The evening concluded with a Hindustani music concert with Ashish Mishra and Rajnish Mishra and accompanying musicians from the Benares Gharana singing bhajans by Sant Tulsidas, Sant Kabir Das, as well as hymns to Lords Rama, Krishna, and Shiva.
