Auspicious Sri Maha Rudram chanting resonated across the Yogadham Akhada the day before Maha Shivaratri. The number of participants increased as the flow of devotees attending Shivaratri celebrations streamed in. At 6.30 a.m. Sri M performed the aarti at Sri Guru Babaji’s shrine with the chanting resuming after that.
From 12 noon sadhus, sanyasins, and Vedic priests started arriving for the Sadhu Seva that was served both within and outside the dining hall for the 500 attendees till 2 p.m. Chanting of the Purusha Suktam in the Shukla Yajurveda style preceded the serving of all the batches of sadhus. Sri M himself served some of the sadhus with complete attention and waited for all to finish before he left.
The new arrivals registered in the late afternoon, eagerly awaiting participation in the evening events. Shiva Upasana with other divine chants added depth to the serene environs of the Dhuni puja. Over a thousand people made their way quietly into the satsang hall after that to watch “Walking with M” , the multiple award winning documentary on Sri M’s walk across the nation from Kanya Kumari to Kashmir – 7500 kilometres across 11 states over 15 months touching more than 10 million lives. The applause at the end was deafening as they carried home the message of the oneness of all humanity.
