Day 4 of Sankranti Shibir at Yogadham

Day 4 – 15 January 2025

The third day of the Sankranti Shibir began with Vedic chanting, including the Shanti Mantra and stotras dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and the Devi. The chanting concluded with an excerpt from the Mahanarayana Upanishad, creating a sacred and serene atmosphere.

This was followed by the customary aarti at the Sri Guru Babaji shrine, a silent meditation session with Sri M, and a yoga session. Starting with Sukshma Vyayama and progressing to the practice of Surya Namaskar,  the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra instructor provided precise guidance and patiently answered all queries from the participants, ensuring a thorough and mindful session.

During the morning satsang of Day 3 of the Sankranti Shibir, Sri M expounded the deeper aspects of Kriya, and led the participants in a practice session and answered their queries.

The afternoon session began with a presentation on the tireless efforts of The Satsang Foundation volunteers, with the blessings of Sri M, in building Yogadham 2025 from the ground up. During the Shibir, volunteers across all departments continued their efforts, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The participants also contributed with the same spirit, making the Yogadham Akhada a delightful experience for everyone.

Throughout the day, the Akhada was graced by the presence of several revered sadhus. Sri M welcomed them with deep respect and honor.

In the evening, Sri M and the participants gathered around the Akhand Dhuni to watch the Jogi-Jangams perform. Part of the Shaivite tradition, the Jogi-Jangams are believed to have originated from the thigh of Lord Shiva. Their attire includes a Dashnami turban, a saffron lungi-kurta, and a copper vase adorned with peacock feathers. They carry a unique bell-like instrument called the Talli.

Their performance combined storytelling and devotion, expressing their deep faith and love for Lord Shiva and Lord Rama. Sri M felicitated all of them with a ceremonial uttareeyam and cordially invited them  to perform at Yogadham again.
