Bharat Yogavidya Kendra Alumni Retreat commences with intimate samvaad with Sri M at Yogadham

Day 6 – 18 January 2025

Day 6 at the Yogadham was quieter as participants from the Sankranti Shibir had departed and attendees for the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK) Alumni Retreat began arriving.

The day started with mantra chanting. Sri M performed the daily aarti at Sri Guru Babaji’s shrine, followed by a session of silent meditation with some of the participants. Afterward, those present practiced their kriya and proceeded to breakfast.

Throughout the day, BYK Alumni Retreat participants arrived, with registrations continuing steadily.

At 4:30 p.m., Sri M addressed a small group in an intimate satsang, inviting questions. Drawing from the Prashna Upanishad, he emphasized that learning begins with acknowledging what we do not know. Through stories and examples, Sri M explained the nature of consciousness and self-realization. He highlighted that consciousness transcends the brain and is evident in the intelligence of nature, like a tree growing toward sunlight without a “brain.” He also cautioned against clinging to past spiritual experiences, urging seekers to remain open to new insights. Sri M spoke about compassion and explained that true compassion is spontaneous and arises naturally when the mind is open.

The day ended with the Dhuni Puja, followed by bhajans in Marathi, Malayalam, and Hindi, accompanied by mantra chanting. Sri M sang two bhajans, Purandara Ranga and Jaya Radha Madhava, leaving the attendees in a state of quiet joy.
