Day 10 – 22 January 2025
From Day 1 of the inauguration of Yogadham on 13 January on the auspicious occasion of Thiruvathirai under the Arudra Nakshatra to Day 10 on 22 January with the commencement of the second yoga retreat Body, Mind, and Beyond, everyone who has entered the portals of Yogadham has experienced a gamut of emotions and experiences, enhanced and blessed with the presence of Sri M and the gurus of the Nath Sampradaya. With the Dhwaja Sthambham deeply anchored on the premises and proudly bearing the Yogadham dhwaja and the Akhand Dhuni burning steadily and constantly at the Yagnyashala, the akhada of The Satsang Foundation reverberates with the chanting of mantras and the radiant energy of participants and visitors alike.
As we complete 10 eventful and blissful days, we express our gratitude to Sri M and the great masters for their eternal grace and look forward to the unfolding of our sadhana during the next 37 days to follow.
Day 1 of the Body, Mind, and Beyond Retreat
At Yogadham, the day began bright and early with mantra chanting, meditation, and a grounding session of asanas and pranayama. As the retreat participants began to arrive, many took the opportunity to walk to the Ganga for a dip in its sacred waters. Others joined in annadaanam seva, distributing lunch and tea to sadhus, sadhaks, and pilgrims, embodying the spirit of service and sharing.
The Body, Mind, and Beyond Retreat began on a joyful note with ice-breakers and Krida Yoga, designed to relax the body and mind while bringing out laughter and camaraderie. This was followed by an insightful session on stress from a yogic lens, where the concept of Adhi-Vyadhi (the link between mental disturbance and physical illness) was discussed. Participants were introduced to the Pancha Koshas (the five sheaths of existence), which provided a holistic framework to explore how yoga approaches stress and well-being.
The group then transitioned into a gentle asana session, focusing on the Annamaya Kosha (physical body). Guided through poses like Marjari Asana (Cat Pose), Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Balasana (Child’s Pose), and Shavasana (Corpse Pose), participants felt both relaxed and rejuvenated.
The day ended with a beautiful Dhuni Puja around the sacred fire. Bhajans followed, filling the space with music and devotion.
